Welcome to chat.SBSmigration.com
Hi, I'm SBS-MVP Jeff Middleton, the founder of SBSmigration.com. Thank you for dropping by this community oriented corner of website. My hope for this facility is to help people with ideas or questions to share them in real time. I’m offer a resource that has a few constraints as possible in serving the online community a place of professional IT chat discussion. This isn't as sophisticated a conference facility as something like Microsoft Live Meeting, that's really not the point. I wanted to create something I could make available for free, and that would be simple and easy to use for periodic group discussions in real time.
I have to give credit to all my friends among the SBS MVPs who have devoted countless hours helping people in any way they can for many years now, they continue to inspire me with ideas like this. In particular Andy Goodman, known to many as "HandyAndy", is the reason this new chat facility is here. I'm flattered that when his long running MCP SBS Chat needed a new home, he took up my offer to establish this community facility to start for him. With his leadership and participation, this opportunity to bring many more independent community chats is born. My bandwidth is your bandwidth, thank you, Andy! You can learn more about the history of the HandyAndy MCP SBS Chat from the link in the section above this.
By hosting SBS Chat to get things started, Andy and I hope there will be many more community chat events to come here, providing an open venue for some of great voices in SMB technology we have come to know worldwide. As I travel around the world, I'm constantly impressed with so many great ideas voiced by just an average IT Pro in the middle of a random discussion. As often as not, it's the experts who do the work we all want to talk to, right? Yes, it's easy to go read newsgroups and search Google for break-fix solutions, but you don't get the texture of conversation and concurrent thinking like what is offered in a live chat. It's not my goal to compete or replace forums or facilities available from Usenet, Microsoft or other discussion websites. Rather, some people use a personal blog to get the word out about what they think personally... I’m choosing to create a resource where many more of your voices can be shared. I'm hosting a place where people can meet from all around the globe, a community of what I think of as the Small World of SMB related professionals and enthusiasts.

chat.SBSmigration.com is a Community Resource
I'm committed that chat.SBSmigration.com will remain independent in discussions and operating from a independent logon registry exclusively for the purpose of conducting our chats. This isn't tied to my business databases in any way. In fact you don’t even provide contact details to enter chat unless the option to be notified about events is something you are interested in. To identify yourself in the discussion, you won't need to provide more than your name (for your friends to recognize you) and agree to the Chat Rules of appropriate discussion guidelines. Your visit won't be leveraged into any commercial marketing lists. It’s all about an open, professional discussion with many familiar folks in the industry offering ideas and debate. Join us!
